I’m currently reading Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America, by Stephen J. Ross. It was a Pulitzer Prize Finalist in 2018. According to the official description, it’s “the chilling, little-known story of the rise of Nazism in Los Angeles, and the Jewish leaders and spies they recruited who stopped it.”
I learned about it through Rachel Maddow’s outstanding podcast Rachel Maddow Presents: Ultra, for which it is a source reference. The podcast is highly recommended as well.
